What is Curcumin?

Curcumin is the principal curcuminoid of turmeric, which is a member of the ginger family. The curcuminoids are natural phenols and are responsible for the yellow color of turmeric. Curcumin, the most active polyphenolic constituent of turmeric curcuminoids obtained from the rhizome Curcuma longa (turmeric roots), holds a high role in conventional disease management.

What are Genus Serum Curcumin medicinal properties?

The desirable preventive or therapeutic properties of curcumin are associated with its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The anti-inflammatory effect of curcumin is mediated through its ability to inhibit Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), Lipoxygenase (LOX), and inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase (iNOS).
COX-2, LOX, and iNOS are important enzymes that mediate inflammatory processes. Improper up regulation of COX-2 and/or iNOS has been associated with certain types of human cancer as well as inflammatory disorders.

How and when is the best time to consume Genus Serum?

Consuming Genus Serum is easy. For every serving, mix 3 drops of the serum with your favorite drink. It is recommended to drink the diluted serum 30 minutes to 1 hour before or after meals. Curcumin taken on an empty stomach is more effective than with the meals. You should consume 3 servings with a total of 9 drops daily.
Another common practice by users of Genus Serum Curcumin is to mix the daily servings into 1.5 – 2.0 litres container for their daily water intake.

Are there any side effects?

There are no major side effects but a few cases of mild stomach discomfort and nausea have been reported. This is commonly referred to as the ‘healing crises and tends to diminish as the body begins to repair free radical damage.

How long will a bottle of Genus Serum last?

At the normal recommended daily dosage of 3 drops 3 times per day, a bottle will last approximately 83 days.

There are thousands of research papers written on the potential medical benefit of Curcumin. These studies have shown that Curcumin may have the following properties:

  • Curcumin might be efficient in treating cancer, especially those affecting the breast, prostate, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract.
  • Lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels, thereby stopping medical conditions like heart diseases and diabetes.
  • Manage inflammatory diseases like asthma, colitis, arthritis, and so forth.
  • Being a superb anti-inflammatory agent, Curcumin is considered as a safe option to commercially available painkillers.
  • Curcumin also include anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.
  • Beneficial for treating gastrointestinal disorders.
Curcumin is a known antioxidant which inherently has many health benefits this is due to the ability of antioxidants to neutralize and counteract free radicals. Free radicals are chemicals produced by the body during normal functions and by external factors such as pollution. Free radicals can cause many problems in the body including inflammation and swelling and possibly promoting cancer growth. Curcumin, due to its antioxidant activity, may prevent some of these serious health problems.

Curcumin has been studied extensively regarding its role in preventing and treating cancer. Curcumin may help prevent and treat cancer by several mechanisms. First, it may help block certain dangerous chemicals’ cancer causing effects. Also, Curcumin may block the growth of cancer cells. Additionally, Curcumin may stop the growth of blood vessels into tumors which in turn prevents the tumors from growing.

It is also believed that Curcumin can cause cancer cells to “self-destruct” and can also prevent cancer cells from multiplying. Under normal circumstances, the body attempts to rid itself of abnormal cells such as cancer cells through a process known as “apoptosis”. In many cases, cancer cells can attempt to prevent apoptosis. Curcumin overrides the cancer cells and causes them to “self-destruct.”

Additionally, Curcumin may help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease is due, in part, to the accumulation of amyloid, a protein, in the brain. Research studies have shown that Curcumin directly decreases amyloid accumulation. Curcumin also helps with arthritis by reducing the COX-2 enzyme in the body. By inhibiting this enzyme Curcumin decreases the pain and swelling of arthritis.

It is difficult to obtain enough Curcumin to realize these health benefits through normal diet alone. Many of the studies have been based on people who receive Curcumin through a nutritional supplement. Nutritional supplements can provide a significant amount of Curcumin that most people cannot receive from their normal eating.
